Everyone has a different bone structure that determines the shape of his or her face, and the shape of the cheekbones, chin, and other facial features is largely responsible for the overall aesthetic of the face itself. Natural appearing facial implants are available to Augusta, Georgia and Aiken, South Carolina residents who are interested in cheek and chin enhancement from Dr. Achih H. Chen. At our Evans, Georgia facial plastic surgery center, Dr. Chen offers implants designed to improve the contours of key areas of the face while maintaining a natural, balanced appearance.
The cheeks and chin are two areas of the face that benefit may from enhancement with implants. Dr. Chen places facial implants through incisions inside the mouth at his Augusta-area practice near Aiken, South Carolina in order to avoid visible incisions. Facial implants are custom-shaped from a synthetic material in order to perfectly fit the face of the patient and produce a look that appears amazingly natural.
A well-balanced chin contributes to a strong jawline and facial harmony. In men, a strong jawline is associated with masculinity, while in women, a balanced chin is associated with beauty. Chin enhancement surgery in Evans at the Georgia Center is an attractive option for both men and women who are concerned about the size and shape of their chin. A custom-shaped implant allows Dr. Chen to increase the size of the chin to better match the nose and other facial features. Chin enhancement is often performed in conjunction with rhinoplasty, allowing Dr. Chen to create a balanced and aesthetically pleasing face.
When performing chin enhancement surgery with facial implants at our Evans, Georgia practice near Augusta and Aiken, South Carolina, Dr. Chen will first choose the implant that best achieves the individual aesthetic goals. The implant then may be custom shaped for a perfect fit. The implant is designed to fit tightly against the jawbone. Once healing has occurred, it is very difficult to feel the implant throughout the skin.

Prominent, high cheeks have long been considered a sign of beauty. Cheek enhancement may be achieved through cheek implants. These implants are shaped to fit along the cheekbones. They are placed against the cheekbones through small incisions hidden inside the mouth.

Patients may have some mild bruising and swelling following surgery. Ice packs can help control the swelling, and it is a good idea to use extra pillows to sleep with the head elevated.
Because facial implants require incisions inside the mouth, oral hygiene is very important until the incisions have healed. Patients will need to regularly use an antiseptic mouthwash. Patients will also be limited to soft foods, as advised by Dr. Chen. Within about seven days, the incisions in the mouth usually heal and the sutures dissolve.
Chin enhancement and facial implants at our Augusta and Evans, Georgia practice, serving Aiken, South Carolina and beyond, are effective plastic surgery treatments that can restore balance and attractive contours to facial features.
